Omegasizing our kids.
Are our children suffering from a Ritalin or Adderall deficiency? Judging by the number of prescriptions for both meds, you would certainly think so (1.9 million for Ritalin in 2005, 8.2 for Adderall 1). While Ritalin is historically the best known and best-selling drug prescribed for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), by 1999, Adderall had surpassed it as the ADHD drug of choice: More new prescriptions were written for it than for any other ADHD medication. 2 These two drugs were responsible for 7,873 visits to the emergency room in… Continue reading Home Remedies from Your Pantry

You may be surprised to learn how many easy fixes you already have in your own home that will relieve a variety of discomforts—and be good to your wallet. Here are a few of my favorites.
Cayenne Pepper. It does much more than create a tongue-tingling meal. Cayenne helps keep the heart healthy and strong. As most of us can attest, cayenne is a diaphoretic—a… Continue reading What Europeans Know About Cell Phone Safety

Should cell phones be banned from children?
The Parliamentary Assembly in Europe concluded on May 6th—after an in-depth examination of evidence—that cell phones and Wi-Fi should be banned in schools. Why? Because of their “potentially harmful” effects on humans…especially “little” humans. And in breaking news today, the World Health Organization is now labeling mobile phones a "carcinogenic hazard"—like lead and chloroform.
Children are always the most vulnerable victims of environmental pollution. For instance, because of their size, they absorb 50 percent more air pollution than adults. When it… Continue reading The Great Masquerader

The many faces of B complex deficiency.
In today’s crazy world, the B complex family of vitamins has all but been forgotten. Stress, sugar, alcohol, the Pill, medications, a low-carb diet, and coffee rob you of your already dwindling reserves of this critical water-soluble vitamin family—which must be replaced daily.
Once a foundational supplement for anybody suffering from hypoglycemia, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, irritability, and even heart disease, it’s high time the B complex made a real comeback.
It really concerns me that we are all so eager to try the latest greatest "bandaid" in the form of moisturizers or concealers to hide our stress lines, skin rashes, or overly… Continue reading Autism Awareness

Can you improve your unborn child’s health?
I am so concerned about the rising rates of children being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs)—a group of developmental disabilities that contribute to major social, communicative, and behavioral challenges. ASDs are now estimated to occur in 1 in 110 children in the U.S. alone.
Could the plethora of childhood vaccinations be the cause? Or perhaps heavy metals, fungus and fungal metabolites, and/or a lack of glutathione—the body’s premier antioxidant, which is known as the “toxic waste eliminator.”
I found a recent study very interesting which sheds more light… Continue reading Got Milk?

I hope not.
It’s all over the news. The radiation from the Japanese Fukushima nuclear meltdown is spreading world wide—and has been found in our milk. The levels of Iodine 131 alone have been reported to be 300% higher than maximum. But what about the other radioactive elements that could be in milk—a primary food source of calcium that many Americans depend upon for building strong teeth and bones.
First off, it’s strange to me that nobody is talking about Strontium 90—the most hazardous of all radiation elements to the bones and teeth. It… Continue reading Is Your Cordless Phone Zapping You?

New research links these and other wireless signals to heart irregularities.
A double-blind peer-reviewed study published today in the European Journal of Oncology links cordless phones—which transmit pulsed signals similar to WiFi networks—to heart palpitations and other autonomic nervous system problems.
"People don't just feel ill, their heart begins to race," says lead author Magda Havas, PhD. This is first study to document immediate, dramatic change in both heart rate and its variability from microwave (MW) exposure well below the federal standards in this country and Canada.
In this investigation, Colorado residents between 37… Continue reading

What pregnant women—and those who love them—should know.
Is there a time in any woman's life when she takes her health more seriously than when she's pregnant or considering to start a family? "Children today are surrounded by thousands of synthetic chemicals," finds research in the journal Current Opinion in Pediatrics.
While we've learned a lot in recent years about growing environmental risks, it appears more than chemical toxins are involved. Still largely overlooked is electropollution from the constantly expanding number of antennae, cell and cordless phones, digital devices, dirty electricity, medical imaging…
