The Thyroid & Menopause
May 26th, 2009This week I reviewed several new health books that will be making their debut later this year. The one that stood out the most was "The Menopause Thyroid Solution" by Mary Shomon. Like the others, I was asked to write a professional endorsement, which was my pleasure for this publication, because Mary and I are on the same wavelength if you read "Before the Change" and/or "Hot Times."
In the intro to her book, she writes the following about menopause and the thyroid:

Good Day!
I hope your skies and mood are sunny.
On Friday evening, I watched "Farrah's Story" on television. I was very moved by her courage, resilience, and desire to share with all of us the devastation of cancer. While the media talked about all of the alternative cancer treatments she endured, I didn't note any treatment that was alternative in nature, sad to say. Whether her prognosis would have changed or not, is hard to say.

Where’s the Beef?

Happy Mother's Day!

My Monday Morning Memo

Happy May to All of You:
I still have the H1N1 flu virus on my mind. Although I don't think it will rise to the levels of the global pandemic of the Spanish Flu in 1918 at this time, if it resurfaces in the fall, that may be a different story. I can remember the Asian flu epidemic in 1957 in which some 45 million Americans were infected. And then there was the Hong Kong flu that caused 50 million Americans to become sick.
